Lester George, Golf Course Architect

Lester incorporates creativity and passion for the game of golf in every golf course design. The blending of his terrain reading ability and his lively interest in the history of golf enables him to visualize imaginative course designs emphasizing playability, beauty and ease of maintenance.

George's projects have received rave reviews from major golf publications, clients and players. His most recent new course opening, Kinloch Golf Club in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, was awarded the honor of Best New Private Golf Course of 2001 by Golf Digest Magazine . Lester's flagship course, The Colonial Golf Course, in Williamsburg, VA, was honored as one of The Top Ten Daily Fee Golf Courses in America , by Links Magazine , as well as being listed as one of the Top 100 Reasons to Play Golf This Year by The Washington Golf Monthly . Our complete renovation of the Newport Bay Course at Ocean City Golf Club was on this list, as well.

His selection by Golf World Magazine as one of the leading young architects in the country, and his selection by The Board Room Magazine as one of their architects of the year, have positioned Lester George as a principal player in golf course design.

William E. Sass III (Buddy), Head Professional & General Manager

Born in Bowie, Maryland, Buddy is a graduate of High Point University where he was an NAIA Academic All-American in golf. He also earned an MBA from Salisbury University.

Buddy has a wealth of golfing experience. He placed 2 nd in the National Oldsmobile Scramble Championship featured on ESPN in 2001 and is a 3 time Top Ten finisher in the Maryland Open. Prior to becoming GM at Ocean City Golf Club, Buddy worked at many fine golf courses including High Point Country Club in High Point, North Carolina, Ocean Pines in Ocean City, Maryland, Beach Club and Deer Run both in Berlin, Maryland.

Buddy was recently named 2003 Merchandiser of the Year for public golf facilities by the Mid-Atlantic PGA. His other interests are basketball, children and church. He is an assistant basketball and golf coach at Worcester Prep High School. He is married to wife Debora and they have three children, Cecily, Will and Chloe.

Michael Charles Nardone, P.G.A. Teaching Professional

Born in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, PA, Mike is currently the teaching professional at Ocean City Golf Club.

He also taught at Beaver Brook Golf Course and Fiddler's Elbow in Somerville, New Jersey. At Fiddler's Elbow he was in charge of golf clinics and coordinated corporate golf outings for companies like Panasoni c and Sony where he rubbed elbows with PGA tour golfers Peter Jacobsen, Tom Kite and Steve Elkington.

Mike was also the head professional at Farm View Golf Course in New Jersey and Wilkes Barre Municipal in Wilkes Barre, PA. Mike played the Space Coast Mini Tour from 1988-1993. He also participated in the MAPGA Seniors Tournament this year and won one event.

Mike is a single dad with one daughter, Christina Marie.

Thomas Kelly List, CGCS Superintendent

Originally from Baltimore, MD, Tom professes a lifelong love for the game of golf. He started out as a junior caddie and went on to graduate from the University of Maryland where he studied Agronomy & Turf Management. Tom has been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent for 25 years, the last decade at Ocean City Golf Club. He also worked at Ocean Pines and Rehoboth Beach Country Club. As a result of Tom's excellent work, the Ocean City Golf Club's Newport course was rated 4-Stars by Golf Digest and the Seaside course rated 3 Stars.

Tom is married to wife Deborah, they have two children Kelly and Robin and two grandchildren, Austin and Gabriel.
